General Job Description:
Accounts Receivable Specialist plays a vital role in our organization as the liaison between practice, patient, and insurance. As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you are integral to the growth and success of our organization. Accounts Receivable Specialist supports the Practice by processing patient claims daily. As detail-oriented professionals, the Accounts Receivable Specialist team monitors, records, and follows through on outstanding claims. This includes but is not limited to making sure the claims are received and on file for processing, appealing incorrect claim denials, sending medical records for proof of medical necessity. Ensuring accurate information is conveyed to other aspects of patient care including care providers, other insurance coordinators, and leadership members.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Experience with both medical and dental insurances.
- Support the philosophy, goals, and objectives of the Practice.
- Adhere to safety policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities
- Communicate effectively with co-workers, physicians, visitors, patients and other organizations.
- Maintain and promote professional competence through continuing education and other learning experiences.
- Call patients regarding outstanding balances.
- Review assigned patient accounts daily.
- Research and follow up on claims denials and drafting appeal letters as necessary.
- Track insurance/payment trends.
- Assist in obtaining and following up on authorizations.
- Report status of accounts daily to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor and/or Manager.
- Adept at prioritizing, planning work activities, and developing reasonable action plans.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
