What are the responsibilities and job description for the Licensed Clinician (OPT) position at Carolinas Creative Counseling?
Primary Purpose of the Position:
Carolina’s Creative Counseling, PA provides Outpatient Behavioral Healthcare services to children, adolescents and adults who are in need of clinical treatment. This service is to be provided by licensed professionals. Outpatient Therapy provides intensive clinical therapeutic services to children adolescents, and adults with identified mental health or substance abuse diagnosis. This service is designed to meet the specific mental health needs of the identified client as they relate to their diagnosis and can be provided in-home, in-office, in-school or other approved/appropriate community setting. Outpatient therapy includes psycho-educational activities/interventions designed to assist the client in the reduction of dysfunction. Services are provided with client-centered and family-centered approaches and are delivered through intensive, time-limited, goal specific interventions.
Description of Duties and Responsibilities:
- To deliver in-home or in-office services to clients as requested by the area mental health including the specific hours requested. These services may be provided in the school setting by therapists identified as members of the school based therapy unit if the client’s presenting issues would be better addressed in that setting;
- To provide therapeutic interventions to the identified client in order to enhance and foster the client’s optimal functioning and interactions in the home and community;
- To continually assess client needs, service availability and appropriateness;
- To work cooperatively with treatment team members and the family in the provision of services to meet the goals developed in the Treatment Plan;
- To provide the appropriate documentation for service delivery including treatment goals, progress notes and billing and submit said documentation as specified by local, state and federal standards.
Required Education: (Including Trainings, Licenses and/or Certifications)
- A Master’s degree in a Mental Health field (e.g.: Social Work, Psychology, Counseling);
- Has meet Medicaid’s qualifications for participation;
- Is currently enrolled with N.C. Medicaid/ NC Tracks; and
- Can bill only for procedures, products, and services that are within the scope of their clinical practice, as defined by the appropriate licensing entity;
- In addition to physicians, the following providers may bill for these services. These licensed professionals are required to directly enroll with Medicaid and bill under their own attending Medicaid Provider Numbers. These licensed providers cannot bill 'incident to' a physician or any other licensed professional:
- licensed psychologists (doctorate level);
- licensed professional counselors (LPC);
- licensed marriage and family therapists (LMFT);
- licensed clinical social workers (LCSW);
- nurse practitioners approved to practice in North Carolina and certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as an advanced practice nurse practitioner and certified in psychiatric nursing or;
- clinical nurse specialists certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center or the American Psychiatric Nurse Association as an advanced practice psychiatric clinical nurse specialist (CNS);
- certified clinical supervisors (CCS);
- licensed clinical addictions specialists (LCAS)
