What are the responsibilities and job description for the Infection Prevention Hand Hygiene Specialist position at CaroMont Health?
Job Summary: Collect hand hygiene practice data by direct observation of healthcare workers. Enter data for direct observation of hand hygiene into system for analysis and reporting. Hand hygiene observations will be collected from all inpatient and outpatient units and specified affiliates, including but not limited to, CaroMont Endoscopy Center, CaroMont Surgical Center, CaroMont Regional Medical Center including hospital owned departments. Perform a variety of clerical and related infection prevention duties in the Infection Prevention Department. Report findings to infection prevention department Manager. Performs all delegated activities in accordance with approved policies, guidelines and assigned department scope of service. Facilitates communication among patients, visitors, and healthcare team members to promote effective working relationships.
Qualifications: High school deploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 1 year of directly related work experience within the healthcare environment. Experience with data entering/reporting system. Knowledge of personal computers, medical terminology, typing skills and basic grammar. Skill in dealing tactfully with patients, nursing staff, physicians, hospital employees and the general public.
