What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sports Med Outreach EMT position at CaroMont Health?
Job Summary: To coordinate and provide sports medicine services in the community, schools and sports events. Provides oversite for practice, games and events to ensure appropriate athlete safety, assessment of injury, management of injury and follow up. Coordinates and works closely with Athletic Trainers, other first responders, community medical personnel, and physicians to provide the necessary assessment and care for the athlete or individual attending a sporting event.
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent and has current credential of Emergency Medical Technician through the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services or South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control. Individuals must hold current certification of cardio-pulmonary resuscitation and first aid which meet the qualifications outlined by the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA). Considerable knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and techniques. Thorough skill in performing injury and illness assessments and treatments. Ability to deal tactfully with family members, athletes, coaches, school employees, physicians, community, and hospital personnel.
