Carpenter Media Group is seeking a dynamic and experienced General Manager to oversee operations for The Victoria Advocate—along with its respective online platforms and magazine operations. About the Role:
As General Manager, you will play a key role in shaping the future of these community newspapers. You will lead a dedicated team and manage the following core responsibilities:
- Developing and executing strategic plans to grow revenue and readership.
- Overseeing advertising sales to meet and exceed revenue goals.
- Collaborating with the newsroom to deliver high-quality, engaging journalism.
- Managing budgets and controlling expenses effectively.
- Building strong relationships with community leaders and stakeholders.
- Representing the newspapers within the community.
About You:
We’re looking for a leader with a proven track record in newspaper management. You should have:
- Strong advertising sales experience with a focus on revenue generation.
- A solid understanding of newsroom operations and journalistic principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
