Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic IT Director to lead our technology operations and ensure alignment with our business objectives. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, software applications, and technology strategy for our small to mid-sized business (SMB) based in Livonia, MI. This role requires a hands-on leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day IT operations.

Key Responsibilities

IT Strategy & Leadership

• Develop and implement an IT strategy that supports business goals.
• Oversee IT budgeting, forecasting, and cost management.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, cybersecurity best practices, and data protection laws.
• Stay up to date on emerging technologies to improve efficiency and competitiveness.
• Collaborate with department heads to align technology with business needs.

Infrastructure & Security

• Maintain and optimize IT systems, networks, and cloud services.
• Implement and manage cybersecurity policies to protect company data.
• Oversee IT disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
• Ensure network reliability, performance, and security.

Software & Systems Management

• Manage business applications, including ERP, CRM, and productivity tools.
• Oversee software licensing, upgrades, and integration projects.
• Collaborate with vendors and service providers to ensure cost-effective solutions.

IT Support & User Training

• Lead and mentor IT staff or outsourced providers.
• Oversee technical support for employees, troubleshooting issues as needed.
• Oversee training programs to ensure staff adoption of IT tools and security best practices.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience: 7 years in IT leadership, preferably in an SMB environment.
• Technical Skills:
• Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and networking.
• Experience with Windows servers and Microsoft 365 environments.
• Familiarity with ERP, CRM, and business software solutions.
• Experience managing IT budgets and vendor relationships.
• Soft Skills:
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, team building and communication skills.
• Ability to work with cross-functional teams and align IT initiatives with business strategy.

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
