About This Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Industrial and Packaging Engineer to join our team onsite in Charlotte. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing packaging solutions and manufacturing processes to ensure efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and sustainability. This role requires a strong understanding of industrial engineering principles, packaging materials, and production techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative packaging solutions that meet product protection, cost, and sustainability requirements.
- Analyze and optimize manufacturing processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, quality assurance, and supply chain, to ensure seamless integration of packaging solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses for new packaging designs and process improvements.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) for packaging and manufacturing processes.
- Monitor and evaluate packaging performance through testing and analysis, making necessary adjustments to meet performance standards.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to packaging and manufacturing.
- Provide technical support and training to production staff on packaging equipment and processes.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance packaging and manufacturing efficiency and sustainability.
- Maintain layout (in AutoCAD).
- Analyze current process to identify and mitigate ergonomic risk.
- Design flexible workstations to efficiently respond to fluctuating seasonal demand.
- Bachelor's Degree in Industrial, Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering, or Engineering Technology
- 5 years of experience in industrial and packaging engineering
- 5 years of experience in industrial and packaging engineering in a manufacturing environment
- Lean manufacturing, cell design, and line balancing experience required
- Experience developing standard visual work preferred
- Strong knowledge of packaging materials, design, and manufacturing processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to packaging and manufacturing.
- Experience with sustainable packaging solutions and practices.
- Certification in Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing.
