What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Coordinator position at Carrier Vibrating Equipment Inc?
Carrier Vibrating Equipment (CVE), a division of Carrier Process Equipment Group (CPEG), is a Louisville, KY-based company specializing in material handling and processing equipment. We are looking for the BEST in the industry to help us grow our business.
This role will work with Plant Manager and other senior management personnel. The Manufacturing Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to ensure daily labor reporting is maintained, as well as job information and safety, and that shop supplies are available as necessary.
We are seeking a candidate who is a self-starter and organized. You also demonstrate professionalism and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
What you’ll do
- Review and update Lynq and Paylocity with daily labor data including rework information daily.
- Conduct safety training for all shop, warehouse, and lab employees.
- Assist with new employee onboarding processes (LYNQ training, Forklift training, employee setup in LYNQ and Paylocity, and creating key fobs for building access)
- Enter all material usage data into SYSPRO.
- Manage and update the Stem program for the manufacturing department.
- Must be able to use Microsoft office package, make PowerPoint Presentations for training, run reports in Microsoft Excel and be functional in Microsoft Word.
- Manage & maintain the Cintas uniform program by getting new employees fit for uniforms and keeping up with unused uniforms.
- Assist and oversee Steel Inventory as cycle counts are performed.
- Coordinate the purchase and maintenance of all stocked commodities, which include occasional maintenance of the MSC vending machines and managing their CAP System.
- Schedule annual safety programs (Hearing tests, painter fit tests, rigging training, chain & sling inspections).
- Coordinate or conduct training sessions on JHA’s. Track the progress & documentation using Stem.
- Purchase shop supplies and commodities not stocked by shop.
- Manage special waste removal.
- Attend and take notes for the safety committee meetings and participate in safety inspections.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Plant Manager & Production Manager.
- Approve Contract employee’s time sheets on a weekly basis
- Help with the first responders and the first aid supplies and training.
- Pick up and deliver supplies for events around the building/plant.
- Valid driver’s license is required.
- Manage jobs that require PMIV testing. This includes the procedure of physically testing material, and the uploading of the correct reports into the job file.
- Regular need (30% to 60% of the time) to be on feet.
- Regular need (30% to 60% of time) to perform the following physical activities:
a. Bend/Stoop/Squat/Kneel – Perform routine inspection, assembly, maintenance, and other tasks.
b. Climb stairs, ladders, and ride man-life baskets – Frequent duties require access of the floor.
c. Push or pull – Carts, wagons, or machines.
d. Reach above shoulder – When inspecting equipment or performing training, or another assigned task.
e. Grasp/Grip/Turn of Hands – Hold and inspect equipment.
f. Finger Dexterity – Assembly small parts.
g. Work in confined spaces – Some work is in small or tight spaces during inspection.
- Lifting/Carrying
a. Over 100 lbs. - Rare need (less than 1% or the time).
b. 50 to 99 lbs. – Occasional need (1% to 33% of the time).
c. 25 to 49 lbs. – Frequent need (33% to 66% of the time).
d. 1 to 24 lbs. – Constant need (66% to 100% of the time).
Additional Physical Requirements include:
- Vision - Good vision is required for inspection of inventory and reviewing paperwork.
- Balance - Good balance is required to climb ladders, stairs, climb and walk on truck trailers, etc.
- Reaching - Position requires reaching approximately 3 foot in any direction while holding equipment weighing approximately 10 pounds.
- Taste/Smell - It is important that the Manufacturing Coordinator be able to smell in case of a fire or release of other chemical in the area that may be of safety concern.
- Hearing - Good hearing is necessary due to sound of the spraying equipment that may mask or hide other sounds like emergency warnings or critical verbal commands of others in the paint area.
