Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Sales Representative to join our team. This role involves driving sales performance for Carriff’s containment fabrics, including Erosion Control, Knitted Absorbents, Nonwoven Absorbents, Tubular Netting, and Grout Sock. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical sales background and a proven track record of driving sales growth.
Essential Responsibilities:
Sales:
· Develop and apply an in-depth understanding of Carriff's containment fabrics, including technical product specifications, applications, benefits, and competitive advantages.
· Develop and apply an in-depth understanding of the industries served by Carriff’s products, including key customers, value chains, challenges, opportunities, regulation, and recent developments.
· Identify, pursue, and document new sales opportunities (through research, networking, referrals, industry events, inbound leads, or other) and schedule follow-up calls/meetings.
· Gather data to qualify leads and determine probability of conversion.
· Attend conferences, tradeshows, and other industry events to showcase Carriff’s products, meet potential customers, and develop a sales network.
· Research customer needs and requirements; implement new ideas/strategies to generate interest in the company and convert leads to sales.
· Facilitate the transition of new customers to our Customer Account Management team.
· Identify emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition status.
· Identify opportunities for new product development based on customer and industry knowledge.
· Contribute to R&D efforts by communicating salient product features to address customers’ needs and review prototypes against these features.
General:
· Ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts.
· Ability to work independently (within agreed parameters) and as part of a team.
· Participate in production planning meetings and/or reviews.
· Keep leadership team informed regularly of industry and customer news.
· Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
· Participate and/or oversee special projects beyond daily activities and other assignments to support/fulfill corporate strategies.
Deliverables:
· Daily sales process tracking (interactions, leads, and sales) in a CRM tool.
· Maintain a minimum average weekly score of 20 points based on the following points system:
· 1 point – Getting a new lead, referral, or inquiry
· 2 points – Introduction to a new decision maker, or a follow-up meeting with a known decision maker
· 4 points - Getting an appointment to meet a new decision maker
· 10 points – Meeting a new decision maker face-to-face
· 20 points – Receipt of PO from a new customer
· Achieve the following revenue targets by year from A) sales to new customers, B) sales of new products to existing customers, or C) repeat sales to “new” customers won by the Technical Sales Representative:
· 12 months from hire: $150,000
· 24 months from hire: $300,000
· 36 months from hire: $500,000
Qualifications:
Technical:
· Possess professional integrity, a commitment to excellence, initiative, and drive.
· Knowledge of containment fabrics and their applications in various industries.
· Availability and willingness to travel nationally and internationally as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to interact across all levels of the organization, while accomplishing organizational goals.
· Ability to meet and/or exceed sales goals.
· Ability to respond quickly to changing demands, processes, and updated information while managing multiple projects and tasks with clear prioritization and organizational skills.
· Minimum 5 years of experience working in relevant end markets (e.g., construction, erosion control, environmental services, spill control, etc.).
