What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Professor of Computer Science position at Carroll College?
Description: Carroll College seeks a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Computer Science beginning in August 2025. We seek engaging teachers who use interactive methods and current technologies and who will contribute to the continued growth and development of our Computer Science program. While we welcome applications from all areas of computer science, we are particularly interested in candidates with expertise in web design and development, cybersecurity, and/or data science.
Responsibilities include teaching 24 semester credit hours per year, which may include a mix of introductory and advanced courses in computer science. The Computer Science program at Carroll College supports a growing number of students and plays a vital role in interdisciplinary collaboration across campus, particularly with mathematics, data science, and business. Faculty are encouraged to engage students in research, experiential learning, and innovative projects that enhance their education and career preparation.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. Candidates with a Doctorate in Computer Science or related field preferred.
