Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Library/Media Specialist to join our team in Carroll County, VA. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting the media program in a manner that supports the instructional objectives of the individual school.
Key Responsibilities
• Select and acquire materials to implement the curriculum and meet the individual interest, ability, and maturity levels of students.
• Organize and distribute all media and audio-visual equipment for effective use.
• Participate in curriculum planning and program development and implementation, developing a close working relationship among teachers, principals, and other media librarians.
• Create an attractive environment and atmosphere that encourages students and teachers to use the media center.
• Stimulate and guide students in all phases of their reading, viewing, and listening, enabling them to effectively assimilate information.
• Provide instruction in cooperation with the staff in media and resource skills.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will hold the Collegiate Professional License with an endorsement in library media NK-12. Experience in the design and production of resources used in the teaching-learning process is preferred. Broad knowledge and experience in teaching, media programs, management, and administration of library/media services are also required.
The selected candidate must have demonstrated professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, school personnel, and members of the community.

This is an exempt position as defined by the Fair Labor Standards Act. Employees holding exempt positions often follow a flexible work schedule, which may include extended hours to meet specific job responsibilities.
