What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education Aide position at Carroll County, VA?
Primary Function :
To assist teachers in providing for the individual needs of the student in order for each student to achieve his / her maximum academic and social potential.
Qualifications :
- Hold and associate's degree from an accredited college, sixty semester hours of college credit, or have a passing score on a Parapro assessment test.
- Be 18 years of age.
- Demonstrate good basic reading, writing and computation skills.
- Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn to operate and maintain a wide variety of instructional equipment.
- Have demonstrated the personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with students, school personnel and members of the community.
Physical Effort Activities :
Must have ability to lift and / or carry children
Reports To : Principal and / or Special Education Teacher.
Performance Responsibilities :
Terms of Employment :
The length of the contract will be determined by the Carroll County School Board. The salary will be from the Teacher Aide Salary Scale. This position is based on a 7 hour per day, 182 day contract. Coditions of the contratc will be prorated accordingly for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. Also, this position will be for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year.
Evaluation :
Performance on this job will be evaluated in accordance with the school board policy and administrative regulations for the evaluation of classified personnel.
