What are the responsibilities and job description for the Water Plant Operator position at Carroll County Water Authority?
The Carroll County Water Authority is seeking a certified, Class I, II or III, operator for its Snake Creek Water Treatment Plant; an 8MGD Micro Floc plant designed to treat low turbidity water from Snake Creek Reservoir. Snake Creek Water Treatment Plant is nearing completion of a significant upgrade to a increase capacity to 12.0 mgd and incorporate conventional treatment methods into our process.
Duties:
- This position is responsible for operating a fresh water treatment facility.
- Monitors treatment plant processes and equipment to purify and clarify water
- Adds various chemicals as needed to water supply per water quality standards.
- Monitors performance of machinery and equipment.
- Calibrates equipment and reports mechanical defects and malfunctions.
- Completes daily in-house data collection.
Job Requirements:
A valid Drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
Class I, II, or III water operator certification is required.
High school diploma is required
Waste Water or Water Distribution License is a plus.
Salary : $40,000 - $66,500
