Water Operator Class I, II or III
Coweta County Water and Sewerage Authority’s Water and Wastewater Department is accepting applications for the position of Water Operator Class I, II, or III.
The Water Operator is responsible for participating in the operation of the B.T. Brown water treatment plant for Coweta County Water and Sewerage Authority.
Major Duties:** Remain current on policies, procedures, rules, regulations, requirements, and standards related to water. Duties relate to plant safety, report preparation, distribution system operation, plant maintenance and inspection, sample collection and testing, laboratory analysis, water filtration maintenance, chemical feeder adjustment, documentation and records management, watershed monitoring, plant tours, customer service, water main flushing, environmental compliance, pump back station maintenance, reservoir dam inspection, An ability to lift 50 pound bags of chemicals, and to work various shifts as required for continuous plant operations.
Required knowledge:** Water treatment plant operating principles, practices, equipment, and maintenance. Relevant state and federal guidelines. Safety practices and protocols. Prioritizing and organizing work. Job-related software programs, Hand tool usage. Oral and written communication.
Minimum qualifications: Possession of a Georgia certified water operator class I, II, or III licenses.** Sufficient experience to understand basic principles relevant to the major duties of this position, usually associated with having a similar position for one or two years. Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Georgia for the type of vehicle operated. High School diploma or GED required.
