What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Technician position at Carroll Electric Cooperative Corporation?
PURPOSES SPECIFIC TO THE POSITION
To provide a wide range of service to the members and cooperative by efficiently performing work within the Engineering Support Department.
RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to Field Service Supervisor.
- Directs no personnel.
- Cooperates or coordinates with all persons, both within and outside the cooperative, as deemed necessary to carry out the responsibilities of the position.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND AUTHORITIES
- Requires maintaining a valid driver's license and ability to safely operate cooperative equipment and vehicles, as assigned.
- Requires ability to work in a constant state of alertness and focus due to performing safety-sensitive functions.
- Requires willingness and ability to lift light and medium loads frequently and assist with heavy loads occasionally.
- Requires willingness and ability to work in a wide variety of environmental conditions, including but not limited to heat, cold, rain, snow/ice, etc.
- Requires willingness and ability to work in a wide variety of positions and postures, including but not limited to aloft, overhead, bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
- Assists in the collection of field data, preparation of easements, inspection of facilities, design of distribution line projects, maintenance of GIS system, and other projects as assigned.
- Assists in the implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures, standards, and work for the Engineering Support Department.
- Assists Field Service Representatives on projects including conduit and ditch inspections, locating underground facilities, delivery of material to job sites, and other tasks as required.
- Operates and maintains equipment, tools, software, records, and other systems as assigned.
- Observes and inspects the distribution system. Accurately collects and reports inspection data.
- Cooperates and communicates with landowners to maintain good public and member relations.
- Completes work assignments safely and within reasonable time.
- Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality regarding all cooperative, member, or employee information.
- Performs a wide variety of other duties as requested or required by the position.
