Description
Carroll Motor Fuels is seeking technicians who enjoy the construction aspect of a job. Responsible for the repair and/or installation of various types of petroleum dispensers, tanks and related equipment. Assists with other areas of the Tank Services Department as needed.
Position requires some weekend shifts, typically once every 7-weeks; however, must be flexible should a need arise.
Responsibilities:
- Properly installing/ removing petroleum equipment according to the parameters on the service ticket from the customer's location.
- Ensuring proper care during the installation process to avoid damage to the equipment or property.
- Ensuring work meets the company's standards for quality.
- Operating various equipment to include forklift, pumps, and deliver/ installation equipment.
- Accurately & legibly completing the Tank Services work orders and recording all parts used. Detailing any problems or issues with the customer or equipment.
- Submitting work orders to the Tank Services Manger as daily as scheduled.
- Maintaining all vehicles and equipment in proper, working condition. Reporting damage and repair needs to the Tank Services Manager and properly completing a DVIR daily.
- Maintaining cleanliness and neatness of the Tank Services vehicles.
- Reporting to work in proper uniform.
- Maintaining the necessary inventory and supplies stocked on the service/ installation vehicle.
- Maintaining a professional working relationship with co-workers and customers.
- Following all safety procedures to reduce the risk of injury or damage to the customer's premises.
Miscellaneous Functions:
- Performs other tasks & duties as assigned or required.
- During peak business periods and/or extreme weather conditions, may be required to work an atypical schedule or work in other capacities within the organization.
Qualifications
Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- High school diploma, or equivalent preferred.
- Valid Maryland Class C Driver's License, Class B Commercial Driver's License with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required for Propane Tank Installations is preferred.
- Ability to pass a DOT Exam
- Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with petroleum product tanks.
- Ability to effectively verbally communicate with co-workers.
- Ability to understand, comprehend and follow basic and complex directions and pay attention to detail.
- Ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 lbs.
- Ability to work independently.
- Working knowledge of liquid propane tanks and other petroleum product tanks is preferred but training is provided.
Working Conditions:
- Exposure to unpleasant working conditions (dust, dirt, noise etc.) at off-site locations.
- Frequently enters confined work areas.
- Frequent bending, lifting, carrying, pulling/pushing of items weighing 50bs. and above.
- Work areas may be inside a building or outside.
