What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dialysis RN position at Carroll Pointe Skilled Nursing?
PRN position
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Reviews physician orders for dialysis patients. Pre-dialysis data review, patient assessment and evaluation. Relays impotant information to physician prior to starting treatment. Completes documentation of assessment and all care provided.
2. Initiates, administers and completes treatment to the dialysis patent. Fluid and electrolyte imbalance management.
3. Knowledge of dialysis modalities available. (Patterson Health Center only provides chronic Hemodialysis)
4. Hypertension management and control.
5. Infection control procedures and protocols. Follows standard precautions and precautions related to dialysis with proper personal protective equipment, as required.
6. Anticoagulation management in the context of dialysis treatment.
7. Patient education and counseling on various aspects of kidney disease management, including medication adherence, dietary restrictions, and lifestyle modifications.
8. Pharmacology related to dialysis treatment and supportive medications.
9. Excellent time management and critical thinking skills.
10. Overseeing all activities related to equipment maintenance, disinfection, and sterilization with required documentation.
11. Assisting in administrative functions, including maintaining accurate records on patient profiles, treatments given, equipment used, and supplies needed.
12. Monitoring progress towards established goals for patients on chronic dialysis and modifying treatment regimens to meet patient needs.
13. Providing post-dialysis care and completing documentation in a timely and thorough manner.
