- Valid Texas teaching certificate or such other credentials as may be required by the State Board for Educator Certification for this position.

Major Responsibilities and Duties
The teacher shall
- Meet and instruct assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
- Plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students based on the district's educational philosophy, goals, objectives, and individual student plans.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
- Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation.
- Establish and maintain standards of appropriate student behavior.
- Employ a variety of instructional strategies and media which meet the needs and capabilities of the students.
- Evaluate student performance on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Refer students with special needs to the appropriate district specialist and participate on committees related to individual student planning.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, self, equipment, materials, and facilities in order to provide an ongoing, safe classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation.
- Assist as directed in the daily operations of the school.
- Be available to students and parents for education-related purposes outside the instructional day when needed.

- Demonstrate knowledge of UIL Spirit rules and CFBISD policies regarding athletics and rules, theories, techniques and strategies of the sport being coached.
- Prepare his/her teams or individuals for competition by providing appropriate workouts and instructional sessions for teaching the appropriate strategies, stunts, and skills.
- Provide activities which promote physical conditioning and development.
- Provide appropriate student discipline and motivation.
- Provide a safe environment and adequate supervision of students.
- Provide appropriate information, in a timely fashion, relative to his/her team(s) or individuals to the media, college, and professional scouts; support groups, parents, students, and school district personnel.
- Discharge effectively duties assigned by his/her supervisors pertinent to his/her coaching assignment.
- Promote his/her sports and recruit athletes into his/her sports program.
- Perform evaluations of other coaches under his/her supervision (when applicable) according to
