What are the responsibilities and job description for the Health Unit Coordinator CBH position at Carrus Health?
Carrus Behavioral Hospital is a new, state-of-the-art, 28-bed child and adolescent behavioral facility. We provide 24-hour inpatient behavioral care for patients ages 5 through 17 who require a safe and therapeutic environment. Our multidisciplinary team, led by a board-certified psychiatrist, provides evidence-based therapies tailored to the needs of each child, adolescent, and family, and our effective management teams ensure that the hospital runs smoothly and that every patient leaves satisfied.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs clerical duties (order entry, telephone management, unit organization, etc.)
Assists the HIM department with breaking down charts and scanning finalized product.
Assists with providing staff breaks and filling in on the floor as a Patient Care Tech when needed.
Assists in all codes in any capacity needed.
Is responsible for census updates.
Is responsible for communication to schools for admission, discharge, and weekly updates.
Reports to work in a timely manner and adheres to policies, procedures, and processes.
Performs other job duties as needed and/or as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to foster a supportive role in assisting other members of the care team.
Requires intermediate-level computer skills. Experience navigating an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) is preferred.
High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Two years’ experience working as a Unit Clerk/Patient Care Technician in a behavioral health setting is preferred.
Must be able to effectively communicate in English via verbal and written means.
