What are the responsibilities and job description for the Intake Specialist CBH position at Carrus Health?
Carrus Behavioral Hospital is a new, state-of-the-art, 28-bed child and adolescent behavioral facility. We provide 24-hour inpatient behavioral care for patients ages 5 through 17 who require a safe and therapeutic environment. Our multidisciplinary team, led by a board-certified psychiatrist, provides evidence-based therapies tailored to the needs of each child, adolescent, and family, and our effective management teams ensure that the hospital runs smoothly and that every patient leaves satisfied.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Responsible for intake functions for pre-admission, review of admission criteria and admission of patients with medical needs.
Builds personal and trusting relationships with referral sources and department personnel.
Maximizes clinical data collection to support the most appropriate MSDRG by utilizing knowledge of admission criteria, DRGs, utilization management and HIM coding.
Reports to work in a timely manner and adheres to policies, procedures, and processes.
Performs other job duties as needed and/or as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires good organizational, time management and communication skills.
Requires the ability to work independently and to prioritize responsibilities.
Experience in third party reimbursement, DRGs, coding and PPS reimbursement is preferred.
Behavioral Health experience is preferred.
Must be able to effectively communicate in English via verbal and written means.
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS:
Requires MSW or QMHP.
Current state LMSW, LCSW, or RN licensure is preferred.
BLS certification is required upon hire.
De-escalation training is required within 30 days of hire.
