Summary Description: This position assists with the daily operations of the Registrar's Office. The registration specialist provides advanced support to the registration, and records functions with the student information system.
Functional Description
Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience: At least one year of experience in an administrative position.
Required Skills: Excellent Customer Service Skills. Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Must demonstrate proper business etiquette and dress in proper business attire. Thorough working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and student system software. Conflict resolution skills beneficial. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with university officials, administrators, faculty and students.
Physical Demands: Must be able to do computer work for several hours a day, must be mobile to wait and serve students who come to the office for various requests. While performing the duties of this Position, the employee is regularly required to move about the office and campus. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Functional Description
- As an intentionally Christian academic community, Christian employees are hired to advance the mission of Carson-Newman as expressed in our strategic plan, Acorns to Oaks.
- Identifies registration dates in alignment with the university calendar. Sets up registration schedules in the student database. Manages adds, drops and withdrawals of student courses and withdrawal from the university in accordance with Title IV regulations. Assist the Registrar with course verification and no shows. Create and send registration information to students and faculty. Send a weekly eligible to register report to advisors and student success during registration week. Maintain the Registrar email account
- Assist with Registrar's Office on projects and tasks as needed, such as commencement exercises
- Serve on committees, as assigned
- Crosstrain in other processes within the Registrar's Office to assist when team members are out of the office or at times when those processes are in higher demand
- Other duties as assigned
