PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Reporting to the Manager of Shift Operations, and under the direction of the Shift Supervisor (Supervisor), the Assistant Shift Supervisor (Assistant) is responsible for all Hospital Service and Distribution functions during the assigned shift. Under minimal direct supervision, the Assistant will manage and supervise routine activities in a manner consistent with the goals and objectives of the department and Carter BloodCare (CBC). Regular full-time attendance is required during office hours.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- High School Graduate
- Some College Preferred
EXPERIENCE
- Six months as Hospital Service Representative (HSR) or in another regulated industry involved in the handling of regulated material.
- Six months’ experience with computer blood banking or other inventory management related software and programs.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong telephone communications aptitude.
- Strong computer skills with familiarity and background in computer inventory management software and programs in blood banking or other regulated industry.
- General knowledge of area hospital locations, patient-load/types and their likely blood inventory needs.
- Working knowledge of all applicable AABB standards and FDA regulations associated with distribution, storage, and transportation of blood products.
- Good staff/supervisory skills required.
