- JOB RELATIONSHIPS
- Responsible to: Division Director of Imaging and Diagnostic services
- DEFINITION OF POSITION
- Responsible for performing two-dimensional ultrasonic recordings of internal organs for the diagnosis of disease and study of the malfunction of organs. Functions as the first line interface with customers in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs. Participates in Performance Improvement.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional
- High school graduate and currently enrolled in an AMA approved Ultrasound program, either college affiliated or hospital trained.
- One year of US imaging experience.
- Registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists, Sonography (ARRT)(S) or the America Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). All registry eligible sonographers in order to maintain employment must obtain certification with twenty-four months of hire date.
- Knowledge and understanding of general anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Word, Excel and other Window application skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
