Develop a strong rapport with guests by greeting them in a friendly and enthusiastic manner- Maintain professional appearance and adhere to uniform standards
- Strictly abide by standards set forth by ServSafe, state and local regulations, company policy, and other food regulatory standards that may apply at the Cartoon Network Hotel.
- Understands and applies all health department standards
- Present menus to guests and inform them of specials and promotions
- Make suggestions based on your guests’ questions and concerns about the menu
- Develop strong knowledge of each menu item, including capabilities of adapting dishes for guest requests and/or food allergies.
- Check guest identification when necessary to ensure they meet the minimum age requirement for consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Take guest orders and accurately communicate them to the kitchen
- Serve all food and beverages in a friendly and timely manner
- Checks back frequently with guests to ensure all needs and expectations are being met
- Present the guest with their check and process their payment by using Point-of-Sale (POS) system for check processing
- Remove soiled dishes and glasses from tables and counters and take them to the kitchen for washing
- Stock and clean service areas and tables, as needed
- Assist with rolling silverware and stocking server stations with supplies, whenever needed
- Replenish salt, pepper, sugar, cream, and all other condiments
- Escalate safety, hygienic, or maintenance issues to the proper authorities in a timely manner
- Promptly notify the security team or the manager of team member and guest injuries or emergencies
- All other duties assigned by leadership
Education and Experience:
- No education requirements for this position
- Three or more months restaurant experience preferred but not required
- Must be Food Handler Safety Certified (ServSafe or similar) or become so within 90 days of hire, when required by state and local guidelines.
Language: Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English; Spanish or other bilingual language skills are a plus.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age to comply with PA Child Labor Laws
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Must have reliable transportation to and from your scheduled shift
- Ability to comply with all uniform policies
- Must possess exceptional customer service skills, with an ability to resolve questions, problems, issues, and concerns in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to interact with current and prospective guests in a warm, friendly, and professional manner
- Ability to positively engage with guests to promote sales and customer satisfaction
- Ability to follow direction, multi-task, and work as part of a team as well as independently
- Previous experience with Point of Sale (POS) technology and PCI compliance a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain on feet for majority of the workday
- Ability to occasionally stoop, twist, kneel, bend, squat, or reach above shoulders
- Ability to carry, push, pull, lift, and hold objects weighing 20 pounds or more
Working Conditions:
- This role will predominantly be based in an indoor restaurant setting
- Potential to be asked to work in other indoor or outdoor areas of the park, as needed
- Some exposure to the variable outside temperatures, including high heat, cold, direct sun, humidity, dust, rain, snow, ice, and other weather conditions
- Subject to the handling of and exposure to oils, chemicals, detergents, and cleaners (age restrictions apply)
- Subject to frequent interruptions, constant repetitive motion, high noise levels, and heavily populated environments
