JOB SUMMARY
Under the general direction of the Division Director and Senior Extension Administrative Assistant, the On-call Clerical Support Personnel assists in the performance of various clerical, receptionist and office tasks which include but are not limited to receiving, screening, routing of telephone calls and emails; welcoming and directing walk-in customers mail distribution; electronic and paper document creation and copying, collating, folding, and distribution of paper documents. The position is also responsible for assisting in the collection of fees for services; assisting at the county fair; and supporting the advisory committee including preparing documents and taking minutes.
TYPICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides administrative support, clerical, office and receptionist functions for Public Services Division and University of Minnesota Extension Office.
- Assists the public by responding to routine telephone, email and walk-in customer questions by referring them to the proper staff member.
- Refers callers to the appropriate resources within the County.
- Operation of a cash draw to make change, collection of incidental fees for service.
- Utilizes software applications to update spreadsheets, documents and reports.
- Assists in the processes of scanning and indexing documents for the records management operation. This responsibility includes files preparation, data entry and quality control through comparing source against imaged documents for errors and omissions.
- Works with material that may be confidential or sensitive in nature.
- Assists with projects as needed.
- Performs other comparable duties of a like or similar nature as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
SCORED EXAMINATION PROCESS

The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, and background investigation.
