What are the responsibilities and job description for the Facilities Custodial Supervisor position at Carver County?
The Custodial Supervisor promotes the maximum productivity from custodial staff and coordinates various cleaning and inventory functions for the Facility Services Department. This position provides Supervisory functions to department's custodial staff to preserve the physical assets of Carver County facilities by providing a working environment that is clean, comfortable, and free of hazards for County employees and the public; ensures that the custodial staff has all the needed tools, materials, skills, and training to be successful at their jobs. This position is a working supervisory position requiring variety of semi-skilled and manual labor tasks necessary to maintain County Buildings, equipment, and grounds. The Facilities Custodial Supervisor performs duties and responsibilities under the direction of the Facility Services Department Manager.• Supervises and provides direction over the work activities, functions, and responsibilities of the custodial personnel to ensure that work is completed in an efficient and timely fashion that meets the standards and guidelines set forth by the County. This includes but is not limited to; participating in the hiring, promoting or transferring of staff, assigning work, completion of performance reviews, provide rewards and verbal or written discipline.
• Responds to Step I grievances with the authority to settle grievances on behalf of the County.
• Maintain County custodial standards and performs custodial duties as necessary to ensure standards are met.
• Provide supervisory leadership and development to custodial staff.
• Maintain Facilities Department inventory of housekeeping supplies.
• Perform other comparable or like duties as assigned• High School Diploma/GED
• 2 years of facility maintenance experience
or
• Associates Degree or 2 year Technical Certification in related area
and
• Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualification:
• One (1) year supervisory experience in a related areaAll applications will be screened for minimum qualifications, scored and ranked. The highest ranked candidates meeting minimum qualifications will be recommended for the scored oral examinations (interviews). Final selection for the position will include successful completion of oral interview(s), reference checks, pre-placement physical, and background investigation, including CJIS fingerprinting.
