Carver Companies is seeking an experienced Assistant Corporate Controller to join our team located at our spectacular new office located in Albany (Guilderland) NY.  This is an in-person position.  This is NOT a remote or hybrid position.

Carver Companies, a Top Employer in the Capital Region, is seeking a motivated Assistant Corporate Controller to join our team. Assistant Corporate Controller Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review multi-entity monthly financial reporting.
  • Oversee Corporate month-end close processes within established deadlines and standards.
  • Ensure monthly reporting processes are complete and accurate.
  • Ensure timely payment and filing of sales tax, fuel tax, property taxes, and corporate taxes.
  • Compare current financial information to applicable prior period and identify/explain anomalies and trends.
  • Assist in cash management and cash projection activities.
  • Prepare monthly internal management reporting.
  • Maintain and prepare financial documentation for external auditors.
  • Review financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP.
  • Assist with internal and external financial audit processes and ensure adherence to established financial controls and policies.
  • Employ best practices, policies, and processes to monitor and ensure appropriate control environment.
  • Respond to internal and external information requests.

Assistant Corporate Controller Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 10 years of accounting experience.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and complete assignments with deadlines.
  • Highly detail-oriented.
  • High attention to accuracy.

 

Additional Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of general accounting, financial reporting and GAAP.
  • General Ledger Accounting Experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office.
  • Experience with Sage 300 / Timberline a plus

Pay is based on prior education and experience, however the estimated pay range is $90,000 to $145,000. 

Actual compensation may be higher or lower.
