What are the responsibilities and job description for the MANAGER RADIOLOGY position at Cary Medical Center?
Job Summary:
Responsible for the day to day operations of the Department of Radiology, with a primary focus on quality patient care. Provide leadership for employees within Radiology, (MRI, Mammography, Diagnostic Radiology, CT, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound) by role modeling professional standards. Continuously collaborate with members of the health care team to maximize positive patient outcomes while ensuring a cohesive team approach to patient needs.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Demonstrates a positive and professional attitude with proven leadership skills
2. Ability to supervise personnel and maintain staff’s focus on Department of Radiology goals
3. Identify urgent situations and utilizes critical thinking skills
4. Oversees staffing schedules, attends meetings and assists the Chief Operating Officer with financial processes, including maintaining an understanding of departmental operational budgets
5. Take an active role with the ongoing development of Radiology staff members, including identifying educational needs for the department
6. Ensures that quality management objectives are met
7. Completes payroll and timecards entry in payroll system.
8. Maintains own professional growth.
9. Maintain an ongoing dialogue with the Radiologists in regards to department protocols, new procedures, new equipment, staff training, annual staff competencies, physician QM indicators and department quality management and data collection, staff performance appraisals, and Federal, State and Local government rules and regulations.
10. Provides leadership to Radiology staff members.
11. Demonstrates the ability to work with others in a team environment and build rapport with staff.
Requirements:Educational Requirements:
1. State of Maine License – RT.
2. ARRT Certification
3. CPR Certification
4. Experience supervising individuals
5. Strong leadership skills
6. Excellent customer service skills
7. Computer knowledge preferred
Schedule:
1. Must be able to work Monday through Saturday, with occasional Sunday and holiday coverage required.
2. Hours are dependent on customer and department needs. Flexibility will be needed.
3. Manager must be able to travel amongst Cary’s locations as necessary to perform work functions.
