About Casa de Amistad: Casa de Amistad is a community-focused, non-profit 501c3 organization headquartered in Athens, Georgia. Casa is dedicated to supporting and empowering the local Latino community across north Georgia. We offer a variety of programs, including English as a second language (ESL) and general education development (GED) classes, local events, and community outreach initiatives. Our mission is to foster connections and provide educational opportunities that help individuals and families thrive. Casa de Amistad collaborates with local organizations, schools, churches, and volunteers to enhance program sustainability and community engagement. Position Overview: The Executive Director will serve as the primary leader and spokesperson for Casa de Amistad, representing the organization to local government agencies, nonprofits, faith-based groups, and the Hispanic/Latino community. This individual will work closely with the Board of Directors to oversee program development, financial management, and fundraising efforts. The position offers a unique opportunity to shape the organization's future in collaboration with a dedicated team. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including remote and in-person work, with availability for weekday, evening, and some weekend hours to meet the diverse needs of the community.

Key Responsibilities under the guidance and direction of the Board of Directors (BoD):
Leadership & Community Engagement(X%):
● Act as the primary spokesperson for Casa, actively promoting its mission to local government agencies, nonprofits, faith-based organizations, and the Hispanic/Latino community.
● Build and nurture relationships with stakeholders and partners, representing Casa at community initiatives, events, and public forums.
● Serve as a leader and ambassador, ensuring Casa remains a vital presence in the local immigrant and Latino communities.
Program Oversight & Development(X%):
● Provide leadership in ensuring that Casa’s programs align with its mission and serve the community in a fair, ethical, and migrant-positive manner.
● Work closely with Casa’s Board of Directors, program directors, volunteers, and instructors to design, execute, and evaluate programs that address community needs with dignity and respect..
Financial & Administrative Management(X%):
● Collaborate with the Board Treasurer on financial record-keeping and support in preparing data for tax filings.
● Support and report to the Board, including tracking projects, deadlines, and reporting for Casa’s initiatives.
● Manage Casa’s administrative duties, including organizing records, monitoring email and mail, and supporting the hiring processes, contracts, and payroll with BoD oversight.
Grant & Budget Management:
● Manage all aspects of grant administration, ensuring that grant-funded projects are delivered according to funder requirements and organizational goals.
● Oversee program budgets, track expenditures, and maintain accurate and transparent financial records for grant programs.
● Submit timely reports on grant progress and outcomes in compliance with funder expectations.
Intern Coordination & Team Management:
● Manage interns and project staff, providing support, training, and guidance to ensure tasks are completed and goals are met.
● Build strong relationships with all volunteers, ensuring they feel valued and supported as critical contributors to the organization’s success.
● Maintain Casa’s relationship-based leadership approach to ensure everyone is appreciated and empowered.
_ Required Skills:_
● Proficiency in Spanish (spoken and written).
● Strong leadership and organizational skills, with experience managing nonprofit operations.
● Knowledge of collaborative platforms (e.g., Google Docs, Zoom)
● Knowledge of social media management and outreach.
● Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, with experience in donor management and grant administration.
● Flexibility to manage both remote and in-person work settings.
Preferred Qualifications:
● Experience with fundraising and strategic planning for nonprofits.
● Previous work in adult education, particularly ESL and GED programs.
● Demonstrated ability to develop partnerships with community groups and government agencies.
● A passion for advocating on behalf of the Hispanic/Latino immigrant population.
