Job Summary
The Early Childhood Education Assistant Director has strong interest and ability to work with children and families who have a history of trauma. This position requires a solid understanding of Trauma-Informed Care and the importance of family engagement. The Assistant Director is responsible for supporting the Center Director in ensuring the health, safety, and quality of education for all children in the center's care. Under the direction of the Center Director, the Assistant Director collaborates with staff to ensure that the curriculum and classroom activities are effectively delivered, meeting both the needs of the students and the goals of the center.
As part of our commitment to attracting top talent, we are pleased to offer a $1,000 Sign-On Bonus . This bonus will be paid in two installments : $500 upon successful completion of the onboarding process, and an additional $500 after 90 days of continuous employment.
Essential Duties
- Assumes duties of Center Director and Teachers as needed during their absence.
- Collaborates with staff to ensure adherence to quality standards in accordance with Center guidelines and state and local requirements; implements improvements where needed.
- Maintains communication with families and the community through appropriate outreach activities.
- Follows all center policies and state regulations.
- Ensures the supervision, safety, and protection of children at all times.
- Maintains a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
- Attends team meetings and professional development trainings as required by the organization, DHS licensing regulations, accreditation, and quality improvement standards.
- Follows the guidance and instruction of the Center Director.
- Performs other duties consistent with position responsibilities as assigned.
- Adheres to organization policies and procedures.
- Acts as a role model within and outside the organization.
- Performs duties as workload necessitates.
- Maintains a positive and respectful attitude.
- Communicates regularly with supervisor about department issues.
- Demonstrates flexible and efficient time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
- Meets department performance and productivity standards.
