What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer Supervisor position at CASA For Kids?
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in social service related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2. Minimum of two years of experience in social services field preferred.
3. Demonstrated ability to communicate with, supervise, and empower volunteers.
4. Knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis relating to child abuse and neglect. Preference given to individual with experience working with such families.
5. Basic computer skills, and knowledge and ability to learn and maintain CASA For Kids database.
SUPERVISION:
The Volunteer Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director.
DUTIES:
1. Volunteer Training
a. Assist with volunteer recruitment, screening and interviewing prospective volunteers, and development of the training manual.
b. Schedule, coordinate, and facilitate volunteer training.
c. Coordinate and facilitate in-service trainings for volunteers.
d. Assign cases to appropriate volunteers, maintain availability for case consultation, provide regular supervision to volunteers, and monitor interactions between volunteers and service providers.
e. Maintain and update all volunteer records.
f. Consult with service providers regarding client needs and volunteer assignments.
2. Volunteer Management
a. Maintain contact with each CASA volunteer and collect monthly time sheets.
b. Provide support and consultation on a regular basis.
c. Keep necessary and appropriate volunteer personnel records.
d. Assist in coordinating volunteer appreciation events.
3. Case Management
a. Coordinate, document, and channel all CASA requests until resolution.
b. Collaborate with CASA staff and other team members to determine priority cases and best assignments for each CASA volunteer.
c. Notify CASAs of all hearings, reviews, and MDT meetings, and attend when possible.
d. Prepare and review all court reports with assistance of CASA volunteers and distribute to appropriate parties.
e. Maintain and update case files, case statistics, and all other pertinent case information in database system.
f. Regularly and professionally interact with all members of the MDT, collaborating on all cases when appropriate.
4. Program Activities
a. Professionally represent CASA For Kids through networking, outreach, and educational events.
b. Attend relevant conferences/seminars/workshops/meetings as requested by the Executive Director.
c. Attend staff meetings.
d. Assist with fundraising events.
e. Other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director or the Advisory Committee President.
