What are the responsibilities and job description for the Program Coordinator position at CASA of Johnson & Wyandotte Counties?
DUTIES: Primary responsibility is supervising volunteer advocates and monitoring progress on cases ordered by the court involving children who have experienced abuse, neglect, or other trauma. Oversees and directs activities of volunteer advocates. Works collaboratively with volunteer advocates to provide a comprehensive report to the court that speaks to the best interest of assigned children. Consults with Associate Program Director/Program Director and other program staff throughout execution of duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Supervises up to 35 court-ordered cases in Johnson and Wyandotte Counties.
· Prepares cases for volunteer advocate assignment. Researches case details and selects appropriate volunteer advocate match.
· Reviews case file with volunteer advocates and assists in developing a starting point for casework. Executes CASA volunteer oath of appointment.
· Maintains regular communication with volunteer advocates to provide assistance in helping identify the child’s needs and making recommendations in the child’s best interest.
· Preserves up-to-date information in the proprietary case management system.
· Secures written monthly activity case logs from each volunteer advocate.
· Solicits, receives and edits written court reports from volunteer advocates. Submits reports to all relevant parties within timelines prescribed by the Court.
· Attends court hearings and/or case-related meetings with volunteer advocates (in-person or remote).
· Maintains oversight of case activities and manages case files.
· Completes case closing process with volunteer advocates.
· In collaboration with Volunteer Department, oversees advocacy activities and maintains volunteer advocate files in compliance with program policy and standards of the Kansas Supreme Court and National CASA Association.
· Communicates regularly with Associate Program Director/Program Director and submits any activity reports as requested.
· Participates as trainer or moderator for volunteer advocate training as requested.
· Assists in program enhancement activities, including administration of evaluation tools, updates to training materials and/or development of volunteer advocate training resources.
Program Activities:
Completes 12 CEU credits annually for the development of programs and volunteers.
Attends regular staff meetings and program coordinator meetings.
Participates in external partner meetings as requested.
Assists in all CASA events.
Completes other assignments as directed by the Associate Program Director/Program Director, or President and CEO.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant area of expertise strongly preferred.
2 to 3 years of relevant experience also preferred.
Interest in bilingual candidates.
Salary : $32,000 - $48,000
