Organization Overview
CASA of Los Angeles organizes the community to take action and advocate for children and families in LA County’s overburdened child welfare and juvenile justice systems. CASA of Los Angeles is on a path over the next five years to expand services to a meaningful number of the 30,000 children in the Los Angeles dependency court system every year.
The Prevention and Early Intervention (PEI) program at CASA/LA is committed to empowering transitional aged youth (TAY) and non-minor dependents (NMDs) ages 12-21, who have been impacted by the Child Welfare system. The PEI program aims to provide youth with more expedient linkage to needed supportive services with the goal of reducing the risk of entering or re-entering additional systems, such as juvenile justice, adult criminal justice, or homelessness. Our mission is to proactively support our young people by connecting them with dedicated resource navigators that are able to provide individualized support, comprehensive case management, and skill-building training. Through personalized one-on-one support, access to CASA’s youth tailored resources, and targeted workshops led by our PEI training coordinator, we aim to equip youth with the tools and confidence needed for a successful transition into early adulthood.
