Wage band range $75,000.00 - $93,000.00 annually. However, starting pay is ultimately determined by the scope of the position, the candidate's relevant experience, and internal equity. Position is eligible for Bilingual pay incentive.

Under the direction of the TBS/IHTP Program Manager, is responsible for planning and supervising one-to-one therapeutic contact with community-based children referred to Casa Pacifica through county behavioral health workers. The TBS/IHTP (In-Home Therapeutic Program) Clinical Supervisor carries out the mission of Casa Pacifica as it relates to individualized behavioral interventions as needed at a child's home, school, or other community setting.

The clinical supervisors are LPHA’s (MFT/LCSW/LPCC/APCC/PhD and licensed waivered as approved by Santa Barbara County’s Quality Assurance department) with 1 year’s post licensure/graduate experience, in behavioral interventions with children, who provide clinical guidance to TBS Specialists ensuring that interventions are clinically sound. The Clinical Supervisor must have a current registration/license/waiver with the California BBS or BOP. The TBS/IHTP Clinical Supervisors meet weekly with TBS Specialists in the form of group supervision to review cases and guide the interventions. The TBS/IHTP Clinical Supervisor also meets bi-weekly with staff individually and weekly in group to discuss each case and the specialists’ development in more detail. The TBS/IHTP Clinical Supervisors are also responsible for overseeing documentation standards according to Medi-Cal standards, as well as ensuring all note deadlines are met, while monitoring accuracy of productivity and visit frequency requirements are met. The TBS/IHTP Clinical Supervisor is required to be on-call to line staff to provide clinical guidance with crisis calls during the hours that TBS specialists are in the field. The TBS/IHTP Clinical Supervisor is also responsible for attending initial intake meetings to develop the TBS Treatment plan and formulate TBS goals, as well as monitor continued progress toward goal attainment, revise goals as necessary to reflect current client functioning, complete a TBS Assessment (Functional assessment of Behaviors) oversee the appropriateness of interventions being implemented, and assess readiness for client discharge/graduation from the TBS program.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (illustrated By Typical Activities)

  • Maintains clinical oversight of TBS program to include individual and group supervision and support of individual TBS specialists (through in-home support as needed), ongoing trainings for providers, and recruitment of trainers from the community.
  • Participates in the interviewing/hiring process for all TBS employees as well as follow-up staff evaluations in conjunction with the TBS Program Manager and Lead Specialist.
  • Attends initial treatment team meetings and develops TBS treatment plan for each client referred to TBS, and participates in assigning cases to TBS Specialists. Continues to update plan for review meetings as needed.
  • Reviews and signs all TBS provider progress notes, providing feedback as necessary. Ensures documentation is completed in a timely manner. Ensure charts are maintained at the standard provided by DHCS.
  • Conducts weekly Group Supervision and bi-weekly individual supervision for assigned team of TBS Specialists
  • Continue to develop program to exceed standards of practice. This will include assisting TBS Specialists in Functional Assessment Development, relapse prevention planning, and updating forms or policies to demonstrate the highest standard of care.
  • On-call evenings and weekends during all TBS scheduled appointments.
  • Maintains confidentiality in all matters within the organization with respect to personnel, operations and children.
  • Assisting as a professional liaison between Casa Pacifica’s TBS program and the Ventura County partners. Training Ventura county staff as needed. Develops contracts / maintains relationship with other counties interested in TBS. Develops relationship with private Medi-Cal providers as needed.
  • Supports other Casa Pacifica programs when available
  • May perform other duties as assigned from time to time.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Doctoral or Master’s Degree with 1 years post licensure/licensed waivered and five to seven years experience working with severely emotionally disturbed youth doing family assessments and treatment, and behavior management; or, equivalent combination of education and experience. Current California license to practice within field, or licensed eligible per Santa Barbara County’s policies.

CREDENTIALS: Community First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification, preferred.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to use various computer software. Knowledge of Title 22, Division 6 licensing requirements. Strong organizational, communication and leadership skills. Strong human relations skills and excellent interpersonal skills.

Language skills: Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from clients, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure.

Reasoning ability: Ability to apply principles of logic or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

Supervisory skills: Ability to effectively supervise and motivate others to perform. Ability to carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Ability to interview and hire well-suited candidates and to provide/oversee discipline as needed. Ability to address complaints and resolve problems.
