Summary
As a Warehouse Operations Manager at CASAS International, Inc., you will oversee all aspects of warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in our logistics processes. This pivotal role contributes to our mission of delivering exceptional service while managing inventory and optimizing supply chain operations.
The Warehouse Manager completes various management, organization, and planning tasks to maintain high performance of the warehouse’s storage and shipment processes. This includes providing the necessary supervision to effectively schedule, assign, direct, and control the receipt, storage, and delivery of all incoming and outgoing shipments. This role will be responsible for supporting and the development of process improvements and strategies. Standardize operations, optimize workflows, and ensure we meet or exceed our internal and external customer expectations. The candidate must have import/export experience as well as freight brokerage interactions.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily warehouse operations, including shipping, receiving, inventory control, and order fulfillment.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. and Mexican customs regulations and company policies for bonded warehouse operations.
- Supervise, train, and manage warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to safety procedures and operational protocols.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for customs clearance, import/export shipments, and inventory tracking.
- Implement and enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to optimize warehouse efficiency and security.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics partners to facilitate smooth transportation and clearance of goods.
- Monitor and maintain warehouse equipment, scheduling preventive maintenance to prevent disruptions.
- Ensure compliance with CTPAT security standards, including seal control and facility security measures.
- Generate and analyze operational reports for management, identifying areas for improvement.
- Manage payroll submissions, employee performance evaluations, and workforce planning.
- Maintain warehouse layout and organization for efficient storage and retrieval of inventory.
- Collaborate with internal departments to align warehouse operations with business objective
- Oversee inventory management processes, including receiving, storing, and shipping products.
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational performance.
- Coordinate with supply chain teams to align demand planning with warehouse capabilities.
- Supervise staff, providing training and support to foster a high-performance culture.
- Utilize transportation management systems to optimize logistics operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies within the warehouse environment.
- Analyze operational data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Develop and manage the warehouse budget, including labor, equipment, and supplies.
- Monitor and control costs to ensure adherence to budgetary guidelines.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics or Supply Chain Management
- Vocational training in Logistics or similar operations. (Preferred)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in warehouse operations. cross docking, and logistics coordination.
- Proven experience in operations management within a warehouse logistics environment.
- Fluent English and Spanish.
- Experience of 5 years administrating Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in warehouse management & international shipping.
- Knowledge of U.S. & Mexican customs regulations.
- Strong leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with safety & security standards (CTPAT, bonded warehouses)
- Critical thinking and planning.
- Must have ability to motivate team in achieving daily requirements.
- Effective communication skills and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members on a daily basis.
- A commitment to going above and beyond to fulfill client needs.
- Previous Experience Operating in 3PL Warehouse needed.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles and practices.
- Demonstrated ability in demand planning and supply chain optimization.
- Excellent leadership skills with experience supervising teams effectively.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills for data-driven decision making.
- Ability to implement continuous improvement strategies in operational processes.
- HazMat (IATA, DOT) Shipping knowledge. (Certified preferred).
- Knowledge of Inventory Control, Shipping, and Receiving Functions.
- Ability to create and foster team building.
- Proven ability to direct, coordinate and improve operations.
- Ability to address issues with customers such as improvements or critical events.
- Knowledge of WMS software packages and MS Office proficiency.
- Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data.
- Knowledge of KPI (key performance indicators) Metric Reporting.
- Maintain, create, and adjust department processes as needed.
- Good follow up and follow through on all operation requirements.
- Certified training experience in forklift, security and safety, OSHA – DOT.
- Dangerous Goods Handling Certified (DDG – DOT)
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO concepts.
