POSITION SUMMARY:
As a key member of Cascade’s Leadership Team, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for green coffee We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. This individual will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable functions, ensuring all vendor invoices are organized, processed accurately and on time. In addition, accounts receivable responsibilities will include sales invoicing, cash application and customer statement communication.
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of accounting principles.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Perform A/P organization, invoice entry, three-way match and customer bill back tracking.
- Verify accuracy of invoices, purchase orders, and item receipts.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments to vendors and service providers.
- Gather credit card program receipts, code and enter. Reconcile monthly statement.
- Organize customer billback files, track costs and provide to detailed packages to accounting for periodic invoicing.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures related to AP, including expense accrual requirements.
Accounts Receivable (AR):
- Generate and send customer invoices based on sales orders, shipments and billbacks.
- Record customer payments and apply to appropriate accounts.
- Monitor aging reports and follow up with customers on overdue balances.
- Distribution of customer account statements
- Assist in resolving billing and payment discrepancies with customers.
- Prepare and post daily cash receipts to the general ledger.
General:
- Maintain accurate records of transactions and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
- Assist with preparing metrics and financial reports related to AP and AR.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
- Participate in audits and assist with providing necessary documentation.
- Handle customer and vendor inquiries professionally and in a timely manner.
- Continually seeks to improve processes and to refine methods of job performance.
- Upholds and provides safe, high-quality, consistent products, and superior services that anticipate, meet or exceed the requirements of our customers.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- 1-3 years of accounts payable experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable Specialist or in a similar accounting role.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite, especially in Excel. Microsoft Dynamics, or Aptean ERP experience preferred
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in processing financial data.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- A team player who is collaborative as well as receptive to ideas from others and works effectively across functions to identify and resolve critical issues.
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and maintain a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Strong analytical and organizational skills to plan and execute on assignments.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills required.
WORK ENVIROMENT AND EQUIPMENT:
- This job is located within the corporate office, in an indoor environment.
- This position may support work in the facility that requires standing on concrete floors, exposed to equipment noise, and subject to coffee dust odors.
- Personal protection equipment and other Good Manufacturing Practices are mandatory.
WORK HABITS:
- Requires high degree of discretion regarding access to confidential data and will not disclose or divulge, either directly or indirectly, the confidential information to others unless authorized to do so.
- Regular attendance and promptness are a requirement for this position.
