Cascade Community Connections is hiring a Supported Employment Specialist I to join our fast-growing team. We are located in the beautiful Victorian seaport community of Port Townsend on the Olympic Peninsula.
Overview
The Supported Employment Specialist 1 (SES1) will assist people with disabilities to obtain and maintain employment that is consistent with their vocational goals and in achieving an optimal quality of life. The SES1 supports the employers’ experience by providing guidance, training, and regular communications and check-ins. Additionally, the SES1 coordinates with funders, residential supports, and families to ensure employment success.
Essential Duties Highlights
· Assess client skills, help with resumes, conduct mock interviews, provide job coaching and on-the-job training.
· Generate potential job leads and collaborate with employers to match clients with job openings.
· Conduct regular onsite check-ins with employees and employers and document progress.
· Provide solutions for client-employer personnel issues.
· Train or consult with managers and co-workers to enable them to support the employee.
· Develop individualized employment plans according to client’s needs and preferences.
· Facilitate employment plan meetings with client, families, residential support, and funders.
· Complete Service Delivery Outcome Reports (SDORs) with support.
Ideal candidates:
- Possess excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively customize their approach to the audience.
- Have worked with underrepresented groups, including people with developmental disorders.
- Can perceive a client’s job-related skills and effectively match clients with job openings.
- Understand how to address an individual’s needs and creatively problem solve barriers to community participation.
- Have knowledge of our local community resources and employers.
- Good at technical writing such as report and resume writing, describing job skills and duties, physical and behavioral descriptions.
- Self-motivated and self-directed; organized, responsible, and independent.
- Able to maintain appropriate professional boundaries with others.
Qualifications include:
- 1-2 years’ experience in social services for the SES1 position
- High school diploma required. Associate of Arts (AA) degree preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
- Access and use of a personal vehicle for independent travel (mileage reimbursement is provided).
- Possess a valid Washington driver's license with 5 or fewer points.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Able to create and manage personal schedule based on client needs. No nights or weekends required.
- Willingness to become CPR and First Aid certified.

Compensation and Benefits
The Supported Employment Specialist positions have a pay range of $24.00 to $27.00 per hour depending on experience and level. This is a non-exempt, full-time position (32-40 hours per week). Location
You will work in our lovely Port Townsend community meeting clients in various locations and either in our offices or your home office.
