SUMMARY

This position is responsible for forming and maintaining collaborative partnerships throughout the organization as essential to the Quality Assurance & Process Improvement (QAPI) and Transformational Quality Strategy (TQS) programs. This position also manages and acts as liaison to all teams through project management and identifies potential opportunities for sharing best practices and solutions across teams for process improvement and standardization to best practices by performing the following duties.

  • Collaborates with and supports enterprise, executives, and subject matter experts to manage and implement Quality Department program improvement initiatives as identified through established quality improvement methodologies.
  • Develops timelines and work plans to define accountabilities and assists with coordination, scheduling, and facilitation of project improvement meetings.
  • Plans, schedules, and tracks project tasks, timelines, and milestones using appropriate tools.
  • Monitors and tracks performance based on established Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and provides updates to leadership per established frequency.
  • Monitors for potential barriers to achieving tasks and milestones and proactively escalates when necessary.
  • Oversees the Performance Improvement Projects (PIPs) for the organization.
  • Supports system-wide consensus-driven standardization around reporting, problem-solving, and execution of plans.
  • Facilitates cross-team discussions, problem-solving, and brainstorming.
  • Assists with aligning teams to quality resource needs.
  • Promotes operational excellence mindset focused on real-time problem discovery and response, and speed to design and/or implementation.
  • Manages and measures project performance utilizing available systems, tools, and techniques, and reports and escalates to management, as necessary.
  • Delegates tasks of the project effectively and efficiently to project team members.
  • Makes effective decisions when presented with multiple options for how to progress with a project.
  • Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Predicts resources needed to reach objectives and manages resources in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Utilizes industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout the entire project execution.
  • Develops and implements reporting suites and monitoring programs that support strategic initiatives for both Medicaid and Medicare Advantage lines of business.
  • Performs risk management assessments to minimize project risks.
  • Maintains confidentiality and complies with HIPAA rules and regulations.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Displays excellent communication skills including presentation, persuasion, and negotiation skills required in working with members and coworkers, including the ability to communicate effectively and remain calm and courteous under pressure.
  • Respectfully takes direction from manager.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university and two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in a healthcare setting, quality improvement, or practice management is required. Experience with the Patient-Centered Medical Home model and other general quality improvement methods preferred.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Job requires specialized computer skills. Must be adept at using various applications including database, spreadsheet, report writing, project management, graphics, word processing, presentation creation/editing, communicate by e-mail, and use scheduling software. REASONING ABILITY Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

This position does not require any certificates, licenses, or registrations. Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Project Management Professional (PMP) or the ability to work toward one of these certifications is preferred.
