JOB TITLE: Machine Operator - Secondary

POSITION SCOPE
The Secondary Operator will be required to set up and operate various secondary equipment and perform associated tasks to produce quality products for our customers in a cost-effective and timely manner. Follow and adhere to safety regulations regarding the safe operation of secondary machinery and all other related equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read, comprehend, and follow written, standardized work instructions and trained procedures to perform any secondary machinery throughout the facility.
- Visually inspects castings during operation to comply with customer specifications.
- Meet hourly production requirements on a daily basis. Production net of scrap must meet output levels equal to or exceeding cast / trim rates (rates may change over time).
- Knowledgeable on performing hourly checks using gauges.
- Follow the scrap and containment procedures.
- Visually inspect parts for cast / trim defects and minimize scrap.
- Know the proper procedures for packing parts.
- Learn new tasks and adapt to frequent job duty changes which includes cross training and working on multiple machines as required by business and manpower demands.
- Accurately enter data into production software and quality systems.
- Properly completes daily paperwork.
- Work overtime hours as required and be available for emergency overtime when the need arises.
- Work cooperatively with others in a team environment.
- Perform Process Specific Training Form duties if available.
- Regularly report for work on time with a desire to perform to the best of your abilities.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area consistent with safety, work rules, and regulations.
- Other duties are assigned from time-to-time.

CERTIFICATION, EDUCATION, and WORK EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of basic math, reading, and writing.
- High School Diploma preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Lock Out/Tag Out experience preferred.

PHYSICAL AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Please note: Continuously (80%-100%), Frequently (21%-79%), Occasionally (up to 20%)
- Possess good physical stamina and coordination. Specific physical requirements of the position include the ability to:
- Walk and stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections.
- Promptly detect and respond to visual and auditory safety instructions, alarms, and signals.
- Wear personal protective equipment, for example: safety glasses, gloves, hats, ear plugs, and steel-toed safety shoes.
- Work in a loud manufacturing environment that is not climate controlled (conditions can be hot or cold) and/or in hazardous environments.
- Continuously and repetitively use hand positioning to grip/grasp devices such as hoists and a wide range of power and vibrating tools or other equipment.
- Frequently and repetitively:
- Bend, push, pull, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach to perform work.
- Lift or carry materials weighing up to 20 pounds and periodically care or lift materials weighing up to 50lbs.
- Occasionally sit, and climb (including ladders and lifts).
- Recognizes potential exposure to mechanical, chemical, electrical, and explosive hazards.
