About Us
At Cascade Lodge, a residential treatment center, we help adolescent boys struggling with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) develop the skills they need to lead fulfilling lives. We work with boys ages 13-18 to help them achieve their goals and navigate the challenges of OCD with confidence. We recognize that each boy has unique contributing factors to his OCD, including genetics, physical health, life experiences, thought patterns, distress tolerance, and interpersonal relationships. Our treatment team addresses each of these areas in a personalized plan. Our program is intentionally kept small, with a maximum of 26 boys, and is located in the scenic town of Huntsville, Utah.
We are looking for a Chef to join our team and prepare delicious and nutritious meals for our students. Chef responsibilities include menu development in collaboration with a dietitian, studying recipes, setting up menus, and preparing high-quality dishes. You should be able to delegate tasks to kitchen staff and mentor them to ensure meals are prepared in a timely manner. Familiarity with sanitation regulations is essential. If you have experience with advanced cooking techniques and non-traditional ingredients, we’d love to meet you. Ultimately, you’ll prepare and deliver a complete menu that encourages our students to build healthy eating habits as part of their overall well-being.
Responsibilities
- Manage and set up the kitchen with cooking utensils and equipment, such as knives, pans, and kitchen scales.
- Study each recipe and gather all necessary ingredients.
- Cook food in a timely manner.
- Delegate tasks to assistants.
- Collaborate with a dietitian on menu development, addressing food allergies and dietary needs.
- Ensure appealing and timely plate presentation.
- Supervise kitchen assistants.
- Modify recipes to meet dietary requests (e.g., allergies, vegetarian, dairy-free, etc.).
- Purchase and monitor food supplies.
- Check food freshness and discard expired items.
- Experiment with recipes and suggest new ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen.
Skills
- Proven work experience as a Chef or Cook.
- Hands-on experience with various kitchen equipment (e.g., grills and pasta makers).
- Advanced knowledge of culinary, baking, and pastry techniques.
- Leadership skills.
- Ability to remain calm and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management abilities.
- Up-to-date knowledge of cooking techniques and recipes.
- Familiarity with sanitation regulations.
- Culinary school diploma preferred.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
- Significant experience with food preparation.
- Food Handler’s Permit and ServSafe Manager’s Certificate required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to stay calm in stressful situations.
- Must demonstrate experience working as part of a team.
- Valid driver’s license.
