The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Participates in resident outings.
- Drives community transportation vehicle safely for resident outings.
- Regulates heating, lighting, and ventilating systems for passenger comfort.
- Complies with local traffic regulations.
- Reports delays or accidents.
- Inspects vehicle; checks gas, oil, and water before departure.
- Keeps the vehicle clean and organized inside and out at all times.
- Reports and documents any items in need of repair or service.
- Loads and unloads resident baggage.
- Secures passengers’ wheelchairs to restraining devices to stabilize wheelchairs during trip.
- Cleans and services vehicle with fuel, lubricants, and accessories.
- Keeps records of trips and behavior of passengers.
- Maintains a professional and caring attitude toward residents. Must be kind and very patient.
- Knows all documentation procedures and how to use emergency log.
- Prompt and diligent in coming to work.
- Attends and participates in required meetings and trainings. Stays current on system assigned tasks and duties.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- A high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- 1-2 years of experience driving a community van/bus.
- 1 year of experience in working with seniors preferred.
- NAC, HCA or NAR (exemption documentation required) preferred.
- Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
- Ability to work independently.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Must pass a criminal background and fingerprint check.
- Valid State driver’s license and participate in driver safety training.
- Has compassion and a special interest in working with the senior population.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays to meet the requirements of the position.
- Ability to relate positively and communicate appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers and other employees.
- Maintains clean, neat, comfortable, safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
- Maintains current Food Handlers card.

- Competitive Compensation Program - Actual pay rate will be calculated based on relevant years of experience and education/certification requirements.

- Time worked on the following holidays is paid at 1.5 times your normal hourly pay: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas
