Reporting to: General Manager

Summary of Position: The Hotel Manager will oversee the daily operations of Casa Cody in Palm Springs. The Hotel Manager is responsible for ensuring seamless hotel operations, driving staff performance, maximizing guest satisfaction, and ensuring the success of the business. This role requires strategic leadership across all departments, employee relations and community engagement. The Hotel Manager will also build and maintain relationships within the Palm Springs community to enhance the hotel’s presence and reputation. The roles requires the candidate to

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all functional areas of hotel operations, including rooms, housekeeping, food service and maintenance.
  • Oversee the day-to-day activities, ensuring operational efficiency and the delivery of high-quality guest experiences.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of food and beverage items, including alcoholic beverages
  • Monitor performance metrics, including guest satisfaction, financial performance, and operational efficiency.
  • Foster a positive work environment by promoting open communication, teamwork, and professional development.
  • Conduct regular staff meetings and briefings to ensure alignment with hotel goals and address employee concerns.
  • Oversee employee relations programs, including performance reviews, conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies, and administer fair and consistent disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Develop and maintain local community partnerships and marketing relationships to enhance the hotel’s profile.
  • Represent Casa Cody within the Palm Springs community as an ambassador to foster positive relations and collaborations.
  • Recruit, select, train, and manage staff to deliver excellent guest services and achieve financial targets.
  • Administer company policies related to human resources, payroll, and personnel management.
  • Conduct wage surveys to ensure competitive compensation for team members.
  • Handle guest complaints and oversee service recovery procedures to ensure high levels of guest satisfaction.
  • Enhance the guest experience by maintaining and improving service standards across all departments.
  • Assist in the preparation, presentation and achievement of the hotel’s annual operating budget, marketing and sales plan, and capital budget.
  • Monitor daily business reports and make informed decisions to optimize revenue and guest satisfaction.
  • Implement innovative sales practices and yield management programs to maximize room yield and hotel revenue.
  • Develop and execute long- and short-term strategic plans to meet the hotel’s goals and objectives.
  • Ensure operational standards are communicated, trained, and maintained throughout the property.
  • Ensure full compliance with hotel operating controls, SOPs, policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Maintain adherence to all legal requirements, including Occupational Safety & Health Act, fire regulations, and other relevant laws.
  • Monitor, order, and effectively manage hotel supplies and inventory to support seamless operations.
  • Prepare and submit local government tax forms, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining high standards of service and guest satisfaction.
  • Train and develop potential management candidates and trainees in line with Human Resources guidelines.
  • Serving as an ambassador of the property and engaging the community.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the General Manager and Ownership.

Prerequisites:

  • The ideal candidate is a seasoned and highly intelligent hotel professional with outstanding management skills and extensive hands-on experience.
  • Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, or a similar field preferred.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of leadership experience required.
  • Previous work experience directly in hotels and food and beverage is preferred.
  • Must have the legal ability to prepare and serve alcoholic beverages
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with CRM systems, and project management tools.
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
