What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanic position at Casey's General Stores?
The Mechanic performs preventive maintenance inspection (PMI); troubleshoots, repairs, and rebuilds major components on vehicles and equipment. The Mechanic ensures accurate diagnosis and effective repair and/or replacement of components.
Key Responsibilities
- Performs preventive maintenance and ensures the timely and effective repair of any problems identified during an inspection.
- Performs inspection, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, AC, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment. Advises supervisor immediately if additional work is needed or if repairs cannot be completed within the Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
- Utilizes vehicle computer electronics systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
- Completes required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times
- Conducts safety checks on vehicles.
- Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Compensation
Starting pay range: $22.40 - $31.00/hour. Actual pay may vary based on Casey’s assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, and qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include local prevailing wages and internal equity. Our full salary range for this role does extend beyond the hiring range listed, allowing team members the opportunity to continue to grow within the company.
