Overview

The Education & Healthcare Account Specialist is part of our National/Program Accts team and plays a pivotal role in fostering partnerships with key personnel within our existing and prospective school and healthcare accounts and optimizing pricing programs. This position reports directly to and works closely with the Director of National Accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned school/healthcare accounts in a manner that will ensure customer satisfaction while achieving company sales and profitability goals.
- Develop business relationships with schools, independent healthcare facilities, regional chains and GPO partners.
- Provide superior consultative sales and services to build strong customer relationships.
- Evaluate and report on the profitability of accounts and account penetration.
- Visit and work with prospective school accounts on a scheduled basis to gain new business.
- Call on and develop new accounts including giving presentations.
- Work with Bid Coordinators to generate and submit bids and proposals.
- Coordinate onboarding of new accounts and facilitate the transition of business to CWD.
- Review and improve service level by monitoring Out-of-Stock and Sub Reports, Price Override Reports and Weekly Usage and Demand Reports.
- Obtain monthly item usages from accounts.
- Assist in conducting business reviews with customers to assess performance, identify opportunities for growth, and address any issues.
- Works to help build and maintain a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the National Accounts team.
- Collaborate and communicate with cross-functional teams including Sales, Operations and Finance to ensure alignment of institutional account objectives with overall company goals.
- Work closely with Merchandising to ensure that proper inventory levels of needed products are available to assigned customers. Prepare and present projected usage information to Merchandising in a timely manner.
- Assist in planning for and participating in meetings and trade shows which include CWD sponsored events as well as regional and state events for trade shows, educational seminars, foodservice events, etc.

- Attend sales meetings and activities as required.
- Travel required for customer and prospective customer visits.
- Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalency required
- Certification or degree in Health Care, Nutrition or Dietetics or equivalent experience in school and/or healthcare food service management required.
- 3 years of experience with sales and/or foodservice preferred.
- Knowledge of the National School Lunch Program and the Child & Adult Care Food Program, and health care industry regulations preferred.
- Understands the market area including the industry, customers, and competitors.
- Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation and required insurance.
- Computer skills required, knowledge of Excel, MS Word and Outlook desirable.
- Good oral and written communication skills required.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize, and manage heavy workloads with many interruptions is vital.
- Some travel required.
- Ability to pass a background investigation and drug test
Essential Functions:
- Constant sitting for prolonged periods while performing desktop activities or driving.
- Frequent stand/walk throughout all office areas.
- Constant use of both hands/arms, in reaching/grasping/fingering while performing desktop activities and keyboarding.
- Occasional lifting, 1-20 lbs., normal office supplies.
- Occasional bend/squat/kneel while filing or retrieving materials from lower areas.
- Constant use of sight/hearing/speech necessary to perform essential job functions.
- Able to prioritize workload.
- Requires good communication and interpersonal skills both on the phone and in person.
- Must be able to deal with frequent interruptions, fast pace, and deadlines.
