Job Summary:
The Chamber of Commerce Manager will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Chamber of Commerce, coordinating four large annual events, and actively promoting local businesses through social media and other marketing channels. This role requires a dynamic and organized individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for community development.
Key Responsibilities:
· Support Chamber events and programs: Plan, organize, and execute four major annual events, ensuring each event runs smoothly and meets the community's expectations. Prepare chamber and event meeting agendas and take minutes.
· Business Promotion: Develop and implement strategies to promote local businesses through social media, newsletters, and other marketing channels.
· Community Engagement: Foster strong relationships with local business owners, community leaders, and residents to support economic growth and community development.
· Develop relationship with local school marketing departments (Cashmere High School, Wenatchee Valley College) to solicit potential internships and partnerships for marketing opportunities.
· Membership Engagement/Management: Recruit new members, maintain membership database, retain existing members, and provide support and resources to help businesses thrive.
· Financial Oversight: Manage the Chamber's budget, including fundraising efforts, sponsorships, and financial reporting.
· Administrative Duties: Oversee the daily operations of the Chamber office, including front-line reception and visitor center services, welcome walk-in visitors and guests, handle incoming telephone, email, and website inquiries, process mail and correspondence, and manage office supplies and equipment.
· Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Skills:
· Proven experience in event planning, marketing, and/or community engagement.
· Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Strong customer service skills.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and social media platforms and marketing tools.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Passion for supporting local businesses and community development.
Desired Skills:
· Prior experience managing a Chamber of Commerce.
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
· Bilingual: English/Spanish
Work Schedule:
- This position is part-time with an estimated 25 hours per week. Hours will typically be Tuesday through Saturday in our Cashmere office from 10:00am – 2:00pm (these days and time are subject to change). Additional hours may be offsite attending chamber events or engaging with community businesses.
- Occasional evening events may require schedule adjustments
Compensation:
- Hourly rate range between $25-$32 per hour
Physical Requirements:
- Standing, walking, sitting at a desk
- Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
- Reliable transportation required
Additional Notes:
The role requires being physically present in the office to assist members, visitors, and staff. Flexibility and adaptability are crucial, as no two days are exactly the same in a chamber of commerce environment. The position will have a 90-day probationary period.
