Retail cashiers work primarily inside the gift shop. You are also responsible for the cleanliness of the store as well as maintaining stock of products in the store.
Requirements
- Outgoing, friendly, energetic person willing to interact with customers, providing a friendly greeting and exchange is required.
- Be able to answer various questions about merchandise, ticket prices, height restrictions, locations of bathrooms, first-aid, Guest Services, and other general questions. Answers to questions are explained during training.
- Ensuring the merchandise is stocked and accessible to guests.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and practices, including signing, pricing, and loss prevention.
- Retail cashiers are required to sit for long periods of time, perform repetitive tasks, and have a high-level of interaction with customers and co-workers.
- Basic math skills are required; calculators are always available.
- Cashiers should be comfortable around computers.
Work Environment:
- This job is primarily inside the Gift Store. Cashiers will sit or stand for long periods of time. Cashiers may be asked to assist outside when needed either temporarily or for an entire shift. This role is highly dependent on the use of a computer.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day.
- The employee may occasionally lift and/or move items over 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- The employee will be working indoors and outdoors and are exposed to all types of weather and are exposed to loud noise throughout the day.
Expected hours of work:
Must have a somewhat flexible schedule including morning, evening, weekends and holidays (no exceptions) from Memorial Day weekend (when school is not in session) through mid-September. We will work with special requests, but the more availability you provide us, the better schedule we can give you and allow you time off as requested since others are more available.
