Job Description
Position: Director of Slots
Reports To: Director of Gaming Operations
Department: Slots
Job Summary: Responsible for overall administration and financial analysis of the Slot Department in alignment with the mission and objectives of the Casino Del Sol. Responsible for all operational policies and procedures within the Gaming Enterprise’s.
Duties and Responsibilities (specific areas of responsibility include but are not limited to):
- Reviews recommendations and suggestions to hire, transfer, suspend, promote, discharge, evaluate, assign, and discipline Slot employees.
- Reviews and evaluates departmental performance on a regular basis and works with the Director of Gaming Operations to take appropriate steps in resolving unsatisfactory results or conditions
- Handles all employee related matters referred by Slot Managers ensuring employees are treated and dealt with in a fair and equitable manner.
- Performs analyses of activities, costs, operations, and forecast data to determine Slot department and organizational progress toward stated goals and objectives.
- Confers with Director of Gaming Operations to review achievements and discuss needed changes in goals or objectives resulting from current or projected future status or conditions.
- Assists the Director of Gaming Operations in monitoring established cost-containment/budgetary controls.
- Promotes open lines of communication with other departments that directly affect the Slot Department; serves as a liaison for the Slot Department.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (tribal, state, and federal.) and attendant regulations as well as the Company’s internal controls, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Slot operations and analysis.
- Knowledge of general accounting practices and principles.
- Knowledge of finance and human resources applications within the Slot Department.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to respond to internal and external inquiries or complaints ranging from guests to regulatory agency representatives.
- Ability to effectively present information to constituencies ranging from senior management to governmental agency representatives.
- Ability to provide leadership and develop Team Members.
- Ability to communicate and follow directions effectively.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Ten (10) years casino Slot management experience and at least Five (5) years Director Level or higher experience in Slots.
- Computer proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
- Must have working knowledge with Auto CAD
- Demonstrated track record of successes, reliability, responsiveness, and creativity.
- Demonstrated track record of providing excellent customer service.
- Must be able to work any shift, weekends, holidays, special events, and overtime, as needed.
- Must be able to work in a smoking environment.
- Must have employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to obtain a valid gaming license.
