Summary: The Director of Student Success leads initiatives to promote student achievement, engagement, and retention by fostering an environment that supports academic and personal growth. This role oversees the development and implementation of programs, services, and resources aimed at improving student outcomes, including advising, mentoring, academic support, and career development initiatives. This position reports to the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management.The Director collaborates with faculty, staff, and campus departments to create strategies that address the diverse needs of the student body, ensuring an inclusive and students-first approach. Additionally, the position involves analyzing data to assess program effectiveness and driving continuous improvement in alignment with institutional goals.This position requires exceptional leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as an ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and a strong commitment to advancing the institution’s mission through strategic enrollment management through retention and completion efforts.Responsibilities: The Director of Student Success oversees the daily operations and functions of the Student Success Center. Operational responsibilities include management; program assessment and planning; hiring, training and supervising Student Success Center staff, and coordinating academic advising and support programs for Casper College Students. This position works with college and community partners to identify or enhance opportunities and resources for academic success for all students.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Hire, supervise, train, and evaluate Student Success Center staff and Advising TeamOversee and provide services and training on retention and support programs, advising and coaching, Career and Disability Services, and provide support for on- and off- campus networking.Participate in Strategic Enrollment Management efforts at Casper College to ensure campus-wide involvement, development, and implementation of the strategic enrollment plan as directed by the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management.Ensure the delivery of individual and group services to enhance the academic and personal success of identified/targeted populations.Plan and implement an effective student retention and completion plan in collaboration with the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and other appropriate operational units that will meet the needs of prospective and current students.Identify and communicate with targeted student populations to bring awareness of college and community resources.Assist with managing grant and foundation budgeted funds. This includes ensuring compliance with grant regulations and donor funding stipulations, completing yearly grant applications, adhering to purchasing policies and procedures, tracking purchases, and monitoring balances.Develop, market, and implement student success programs based on an understanding of student retention program trends.Provide training and workshops for students and other constituencies on topic areas related to academic and personal success including disability support, career exploration, choosing a major, academic planning,, stress management, time management, financial literacy, support programs, etc.Work closely with various college departments to stay informed about program or process changes.Create, oversee, administer, and monitor programming, grant, and retention-related budgets.Collaborate with faculty and staff to maintain strong relationships.

Work Environment: Typical work environment is an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. Work is usually performed during the normal work day, however, occasional early morning, late evening and weekend work may be required. Short periods of time will be spent outdoors traveling between campus buildings in various weather conditions. Due to busy seasons, there will be specific times of crucial availability when leave time may not be approved.Physical Demands: Employee is regularly required to sit, speak, hear, use hands and fingers to handle materials and use computer, feel, and reach with hands and arms. Occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds may be required; less frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds may be required.
