Director of Maintenance Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assure that all defective machines, equipment, and appliances are repaired or replaced
- See that grounds and facility are kept safe, neat, and orderly
- Conduct monthly fire drills
- Organize, maintain, and store all department-specific supplies and equipment
- Inventory, identify and help store resident’s personal possessions on an ongoing basis
- Complete forms, reports, evaluations, studies, etc. related to the Maintenance Department
- Make sure all maintenance work meets quality standards
- Supervise planned program of preventive maintenance
- Responsibility for staffing, training, supervision, discipline, and schedule for department
Director of Maintenance Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of a high school diploma or completed a GED program as well as computer knowledge/skills
- At least five years of maintenance related experience and basic knowledge in carpentry, painting, plumbing, and lawn care
- Must be available on call for urgent facility needs
