JOB SUMMARY
Provide administrative assistance and support for various services and administrative staff at the jail; also serve as backup for Account Technician and Commissary Clerk.
JOB DUTIES
- Answer incoming calls and questions and greet visitors
- Coordinate visitor and volunteer applications/processing and schedule professional visitations; ensure security protocols are completed for those entering secured perimeter
- Maintain all administrative records for facility
- Perform data entry; submit accident reports; maintain mailboxes
- Provide notary services to inmates; receive and process incoming/outgoing mail
- Monitor public areas of the jail; address security concerns
- Process criminal record checks
- Assist with securing and processing daily cash transactions; assist with coordinating distribution of inmate commissary
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Must have high school diploma or GED and current driver’s license.
Must possess strong communication skills, including the ability to remain professional at all times and under adverse or stressful situations and when communicating with individuals of various mental capacities and professions.
Must have previous experience with Microsoft Office software.
Must be eligible/able to obtain access to state and federal databases, and eligible to obtain state certification as a Notary Republic.
DESIRED/PREFERRED
Previous experience as a receptionist and/or working for a government agency.
